Oklahoma Goodwill Presents "Dress For Success"

February 1, 2008

Two Oklahoma Goodwill staff members presented a short program, “Dress For Success,” today at City Rescue Mission. The purpose was to inform jobseekers about proper dress, grooming, and behavior at a job interview. Sonya Thomas, Case Manager, served as a well-dressed representative of how one should appear in a job interview. Cortney Stone, Community Relations Administrative Coordinator, demonstrated inappropriate attire and behavior.

Thomas also spoke about Suited for Success, a non-profit group that provides affordable office attire for women who are seeking professional employment. She invited the participants to shop at Oklahoma Goodwill’s retail stores where they can find ideal clothing for any job environment at affordable prices. The group responded very positively to the program.

If you would like for Oklahoma Goodwill to bring “Dress For Success” to your agency or group, please contact Sonya Thomas at 278-7126.

Oklahoma Goodwill Industries, Inc. recently gave its website a much-needed overhaul by implementing an interface based on the one used by Goodwill Industries International. The site provides a fresh perspective on what OGI has been doing for the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and introduces some of organization's new activities, such as its efforts to become more environmentally friendly.

The newly updated site is expected to continue to evolve over the next few months, so visitors are encouraged to check back often. Any comments and suggestions should be directed to the webmaster.
